Air Knife Cleans Glass after Cutting Process

A manufacturer of automotive glass has a cutting application which sizes up the glass panels. The cutting operation leaves shards of glass on the main glass panel and these shards need to be cleaned off prior to finishing the glass panel. They have chosen an EXAIR Model 2012 12" (305mm) Aluminum Standard Air Knife and Model 2312 12" (305mm) Standard Air Knife Shim Set to provide a large blow off area when the glass passes by the air knife.

  1. The Standard Air Knife uses a Coanda profile which turns the airflow 90 degrees from its outlet. This creates a low pressure area capable of entraining ambient air at a ratio of 30:1 while producing a powerful airflow.
