Cooling for a Press Fit
Company manufactures diesel components. This customer is pressing a 12" diameter gear onto a 3" diameter shaft. They heat the gear up so that the inner diameter expands and they can slip it onto the shaft, and when it cools it creates a press fit. It takes an hour for it to cool enough to move the assembly to the next operation. The Model 120021 1 1/4" (32mm) Super Air Amplifier was installed over the assembly. Moving large volumes of cooling air, the press fit set up in 10 minutes, quadrupling production.
