Cooling Mattress Springs

The customer manufactures components for mattress and box spring assemblies. In this application, the customer winds the spring and tempers the metal to get the desired stiffness. After tempering, the metal spring is too hot to be deposited on the rubber conveyor to take it to the next process. Customer is concerned about melting their conveyor belt, so they want to cool the springs down to a reasonable temperature before depositing onto the conveyor. The output flow from a Model 6043 3" (76mm) Adjustable Air Amplifier matched the profile of a typical bed spring perfectly. So, this model was recommended to blow onto each spring after exiting the tempering operation. The Air Amplifier took enough heat out of the spring that there was no problem with conveying it to the next station.
