Cooling small plastics parts on a CNC lathe

Customer is maching several plastic parts on a CNC lathe. Due to the cleanliness standards they cannot use coolant. They needed to cool the parts as the process would melt the plastic and create a blog of melted chips ruining the final part. The Model 5215 Cold Gun both cooled the part and also blew the chips away from the process.
  1. The Cold Gun Aircoolant System (available in standard or high power versions) produces a stream of clean, cold air at 50°F (28°C) below supply air temperature. It will remove heat to prolong tool life and increase productivity on machining operations when liquid coolants cannot be used. Systems include the Cold Gun, flexible single point hose assembly and drain filter separator.
