Part Cooling - tire
They mold a rubber tire around a plastic rim. The rubber takes 8 minutes to air cool to touch which is longer than the process time causing production limitations. The process cycle time is only 4 minutes. Two EXAIR Model 110006 6" (152mm) Super Air Knives mounted on opposing sides of the wheel where installed at two of the indexing work stations. They were able to reduce the cooling time down to 6 minutes. They installed another set of knives at the remaining two indexing stations and were able to cool to touch within the cycle time of the molding operation.
