Parts Cooling

Customer produces automotive driveline components. They use an induction hardener to heat the threads to about 1300°F for about 3 seconds. The parts exit the induction hardener to a 6' conveyor where they are loaded by hand into a crate. Because such a small percentage of the material is heated, the threads cool down to 600°F within the first minute, just in ambient air but are still too hot to handle. The Model 110003 3" (76mm) Super Air Knife was installed at the exit of the induction machine and cooled the parts enough to be handled safely.
