Super Air Knife Cools Tablet Mold

A manufacturer of herbal and health supplements is producing a pressed tablet. The tablet ingredients are placed into a multi-cavity mold and compressed to produce the tablet shape and proper density. This process was heating up the mold and affecting the quality of the tablet and its ingredients. They were looking for a way to bring the mold temperature down from 190°F and maintain a more stable temperature at or below 120°F. The mold was 6" in diameter and turned 2.5 revolutions per minute. The customer purchased two EXAIR Model 110009SS 9" (229mm) Aluminum Super Air Knives to blow on the top and bottom of the mold for heat removal and to maintain the lower temperatures. They have been able to maintain the temperatures desired and improved production output.
