Super Air Knives Keep Paint Overspray Off Light Curtains

A global leader in heavy duty truck manufacturing operates a paint spray booth with six automated light curtains, three located on either side. These curtains were subject to overspray from the paint operation, and would fail to operate properly. The customer bought & installed one Model 110248PKI 48" Aluminum Super Air Knife Kit w/Plumbing Kit installed and two Model 110048PKI 48" Aluminum Super Air Knives only w/Plumbing Kits installed for each side, so that each Air Knife blows off its own light curtain. The three Air Knives on either side are supplied with clean, moisture free compressed air from the Kit's Filter Separator, and use the Kit's Pressure Regulator to reduce the supply pressure to 10 PSIG, which is adequate to keep the light curtains clean. The three Air Knives on each side are controlled by a Model 9059 3/4 NPT 24VDC Solenoid Valve which receives a signal, telling it when to blow off the light curtains, as needed. This allowed the manufacturer to achieve their goals while not wasting precious compressed air.
