Super Ion Air Knives Remove Static, Improve Bottle Cap Production
A manufacturer of plastic bottle caps has machines that sort and orient the caps. Improperly oriented caps are supposed to fall freely from a vertical belt, but increased static charge during the low humidity winter months caused them to cling and pile up, reducing capacity of the machine from its rated 2 million, to 1.5 million caps a day. A Model 112230 30" Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife Kit replaced the OEM static bar, resulting in consistent maximum throughput of 2 million caps a day. Once results were proven, they installed them on their other three machines.
