Vacuum Conveying Rejected Material
This customer packages peanuts. They have a vision system to detect dark shelled peanuts which have a toxic mold on them and a sorting mechanism to separate them out. They wanted to eliminate constant attention by the operator having to empty the catch pan. Out of 30,000 pounds of product per shift, 1000 pounds was rejected material. So the small catch pan had to be attended to almost on a constant basis.
They eliminated the catch pan by Installing a Model 6065 2 1/2" (64mm) Stainless Steel Line Vac. Rejects were fed directly into the Line Vac which vacuum conveyed them into a large collection hopper that was hauled away with a towmoter at the end of the shift. They were able to eliminate the operator assinged to emptying the catch pans.
