Vortex Cooling For Chilled Plate
Customer does contract packaging. After they heat seal a package they cool the sealed joint with a chill plate. Water is circulated through the plate, and it developed a leak. They could not afford to shut the line down so they "borrowed" a Model 5215 Cold Gun from the tool room. Disconnecting the water lines they plumbed in the cold air from the cold gun. It worked so well that this became the preferred method for cooling. As other heat sinks fail they are converted to vortex cooling.
