FAQ

  • What makes the Super Air Nozzle so "super"?

The Super Air Nozzle has been engineered to dramatically reduce sound levels and compressed air costs while providing excellent blowing force for your application.

  • Will the Stay Set Hose deflect when I put compressed air into it?

EXAIR Stay Set Hoses are engineered to maintain their position during operation. Deflection has been minimized by design.

  • How do your air nozzles differ from each other?

The EXAIR Air nozzles differ in flow, force, material and size.

  • What makes the Stay Set Hose different from other competitive hoses?

EXAIR Stay Set Hoses are superior to ordinary "fixed-position" hoses because of their ability to maintain their position during use, even at higher operating pressures.

  • Will the Super Air Nozzle replace an open air line with the same effectiveness?

Open air lines represent a serious safety issue from the standpoint of both noise levels and dead end pressures. EXAIR’s Air Nozzles will generally provide dramatically lower air consumption and noise levels for your application while maintaining OSHA-mandated dead end pressure levels. Due to the significant reduction in air consumption EXAIR nozzles may not provide the same blow-off force as an open air line while operating at the same supply pressure. Many applications do not need the high force of an open air line. If higher force is necessary, EXAIR can provide a larger nozzle to produce the necessary force while still providing OSHA safety.

  • Can I use any of your Air Nozzles or Air Jets with a Stay Set Hose?

Yes, EXAIR Stay Set Hoses are engineered to work seamlessly with EXAIR Safety Air Nozzles and Air Jets.

  • What is the material of the Super Air Nozzle?

    The Model 1100, 1101, 1102, 1103, 1104, 1105, 1106, 1107, 1112, 1113, 1114, 1115, 1116, 1117, 1118, 1119, 1120, 1121, 1122 and HP1125 Super Air Nozzles are made from a Zinc-Aluminum alloy, while the 1100SS, 1101SS, 1102SS, 1103SS, 1104SS, 1105SS, 1106SS, 1107SS, 1108SS, 1109SS, 1110SS, 1112SS, 1113SS, 1122SS and HP1125SS are made from Type 316 Stainless Steel. The Model 1100-PEEK, 1102-PEEK, 1106-PEEK and 1110-PEEK Super Air Nozzle are made of plastic.

  • What is the temperature rating of Stay Set Hoses?

EXAIR Stay Set Hoses can be used in temperatures up to 158°F (70°C).

  • Will the Super Air Nozzles fit on air guns that we already have in house?

Generally, yes. However, many typical air guns have an internal restriction that limits the output pressure of the gun to less than 30 PSIG in order to comply with OSHA dead-end pressure requirements. These air guns will not work properly with EXAIR Super Air Nozzles. EXAIR Super Air Nozzles meet OSHA dead-end pressure requirements, therefore eliminating the need for a pressure restriction in the air gun itself. EXAIR Safety Air Guns are designed for optimum performance with EXAIR Super Air Nozzles.

  • Can I use a Stay Set Hose on a Safety Air Gun?

Yes, Stay Set Hoses can be used on Soft Grip Safety Air Guns with 1/4" or 1/8" NPT Super Air Nozzles attached.

  • What are the temperature limits for your Super Air Nozzles?

Super Air Nozzles are available in zinc aluminum alloy, PEEK and Type 316 stainless steel.

Zinc aluminum for temperatures up to 250°F (121°C)
PEEK for temperatures up to 320°F (160°C)
Stainless Steel for temperatures up to 800°F (426.67°C)

  • Can I use a Stay Set Hose with an Air Knife?

Yes, EXAIR Stay Set Hoses can be used with smaller sizes of our Air Knives. Please contact an Application Engineer to discuss your specific requirements.

  • Are EXAIR Air Nozzles OSHA safe?

Yes, our Air Nozzles are engineered to maintain OSHA dead end pressure standard 29 CFR 1910.242(b) and noise level exposure standard 29 CFR 1910.95(a).

  • What is the pressure rating for the Stay Set Hoses?

The Stay Set Hoses have a maximum pressure rating of 250 PSIG.

  • Can I use a Stay Set Hose with an Air Amplifier?

Yes, EXAIR Stay Set Hoses can be used with smaller sizes of our Air Amplifiers. Please contact an Application Engineer to discuss your specific requirements.

  • There are so many choices available from your supply.  How do I know which one to choose?

EXAIR provides a large array of compressed air nozzle choices to fit a wide variety of applications. We have quick-pick charts located within the catalog for our low force and high force air nozzles. These charts are located in our catalog and are also located on our web site.  (Low Force, High Force) These charts list each nozzle side-by-side with pertinent data to help you compare the nozzles against one another including: connection size, flow, force, and noise generated.  You can easily pick which nozzles most closely match the important application factors you have in mind. If you prefer assistance or confirmation with your choice of nozzle, please contact an Application Engineer.
