Atomizing Spray Nozzle Keeps Paper Web Moist, Prevents Damage During Rolling

A customer applies a pressure activated adhesive to a wet paper web. After the web dried, the paper backing of the adhesive strip would curl. A subsequent step in their process is to roll the strip, which would then crack because of the curl in the paper, meaning the whole roll had to be scrapped. They installed a AF1010SS Atomizing Spray Nozzle to apply a small amount of moisture to the paper backing of the adhesive strip - softening it just enough to keep it from cracking. By using 20-30 PSIG of liquid pressure and 30 PSIG of air pressure, they were able to wet the entire 13" (330mm) wide strip with one nozzle. Now, they can safely and effectively roll the product without worrying about it cracking.
