Blowoff of Metal Strip
Customer is a manufacturer of automotive engine components. The metal strip they produce needs to be blown off, to remove welding slag, water, chips from milling, sanding grit, oil, etc, at various points in the process as well as at the very end, to ensure a fully clean strip before it is coiled. They were using drilled plastic pipe as their "air knives", which was wasting a considerable amount of compressed air and money. I recommended replacing each drilled pipe with a Model 110012 12" (305mm) Aluminum Super Air Knife. Switching to Super Air Knives will significantly reduce their air consumption, as well as provide a more uniform blowoff across the width of the strip.
