Capturing Cleaning Media
Company manufactures automotive components. They vibratory clean parts using ground corn cob. When the parts exit the cleaning station they have some of the cob particulates sticking to them. This necessitates a secondary cleaning operation, loss of media, and an overall housekeeping problem. Installing a Model 110006 6" (152mm) Super Air Knife blowing down onto the part setting over a grated section, the particulate is captured in a bin below and then transported back to the vibratory cleaner with the Model 6085 2 1/2" (64mm) Line Vac. Instituting this closed loop system enabled this customer to move the cleaning station to the machining center, eliminating having to truck the parts across the shop to the cleaning room. This saved labor costs and damage through handling.
