Cold Gun Cools Tool Inserts

This handgun manufacturer is running a 60,000 rpm air motor with 6 machining heads. They were spending a great deal of money on replacement tool inserts for their maching operations and needed to find a way to extend tool life without a liquid coolant which would lead to secondary parts cleaning operations. They choose the EXAIR Model 5315 Cold Gun, dual outet. Three Cold Guns with the dual outlet provided the cooling solution and extended the insert life. Each Cold Gun was positioned to cool down two tool inserts each which limited the amount of air necessary for a successful application.
