Cold Gun Protects Nickel Plated Parts from Heat Fracturing
This customer machines special nickel plated miniature parts. The nickel plating is very susceptible to cracks and fractures from the heat generated during the machining process. They're medical components, so liquid cooling is not an option. They installed a Model 5215 Cold Gun Aircoolant System to direct a stream of refrigerated air at the cutting point, keeping the temperature down and preventing the defects in the nickel plating.
