Cooling Helps Eliminate Part Rejection

Customer is machining parts for automobiles. After the part has been machined, a 14" diameter wire wheel is used to break the edges on the part. The wire wheel has a nylon binder to hold the wires on to the wheel. The wheel heats up when breaking the edges of the parts and the nylon binder melts and gets on to the parts and the wires fall out or gets misplaced. This causes part rejection and time spent to clean the nylon off of the parts. They have chosen an EXAIR Model 5330 High Power Cold Gun with Dual Point Hose Kit to provide cold air onto the wire wheel at the area where the nylon binder holds the wires onto the wheel. This prevents the nylon from melting and getting onto the parts, which has eliminated part rejection and cleaning from the melted nylon.
