Removing Peanut Hulls
Company manufactures roasted peanuts. Prior to roasting, the peanuts needs to be cleaned. Simple blow off has not been effective because static electricity is causing the peanut husks and other debris to stick to the peanut and surrounding equipment. A Model 112112 12" (305mm) Super Ion Air Knife System was positioned so as the peanuts fell from a chute to a conveyor below, the ionized air stream blew through the stream of peanuts, neutralizing static charges as well as blowing away any debris. The peanuts being heavier, continued their fall while the lighter debris was carried along with the airstream into a vacuum pickup.
