Separating Carbon Fibers With Airflow

A manufacturer for the aerospace industry had a $50,000 processing machine that was used to separate carbon fibers so a K-epoxy resin could be impregnated into the fibers. The machine required two operators constantly adjusting the system and the end result was not as reliable as needed. Passing the fibers underneath a Model 110003 3" (76mm) Super Air Knife gave better separation and eliminated the need for the expensive machine and the two operators.
