Stainless Steel Adjustable Air Amplifiers Reduce Noise in Cooling Application
Customer manufactures light bulbs. The customer is cooling a mercury lamp wick that is installed in both ends of a bulb by means of a high temp. staking operation. Then the bulb must be cooled from 700°C to 600°C in 15 seconds. The customer is able to achieve the cooling goal now, but sound level is too high at 95 dBA. The goal is to reduce the noise level to 85 dBA with the air blow station. (2) Model 6030 3/4" (19mm) Stainless Steel Adjustable Air Amplifiers installed onto the existing brass pipes reduced the noise level down to approximately 80 dBA with 80 PSIG inlet pressure. The customer was able to meet and even exceed their goal in noise reduction of the air cooling station. Total of 15 dB reduction.
