Static Elimination In Contact Lens Manufacturing

Customer manufactures contact lenses. When the customer is in the process of diamond turning a contact lens to a particular prescription, they have trouble with removal of statically charged swarf. They need a way to effectively remove it for inspection and to provide clean product to their end customer. The Model 8194 Ion Air Jet was able to flood the part with ionized air during machining which relieved the static attraction of the swarf and also provided a needed cooling function as well. Because they no longer had to blow onto the parts for extended times to remove the chips and because of the cooling ability, the customer was able to reduce his cycle time by 10%.
