Super Air Knife Cools Passenger Car Tire Manufacturing

Customer manufactures tires for passenger cars. Car tires are formed on a special, drum-shaped mandrel. Part of the process involves heating the tire material and the mandrel. Afterward, the mandrel must be cooled. Currently, it takes about 10 minutes to cool from a temperature of 150°C down to about 40°C. The customer needs to reduce this cooling time to 8 minutes to accommodate more throughput. The customer was able to achieve the time reduction to 8 minutes that they needed using (3) Model 110006 6" (152mm) Super Air Knives and (3) Model 110003 3" (76mm) Super Air Knives.
