Super Air Knife Dries Railroad Spikes
Customer reclaims and recycles railroad spikes, ties, and other parts of the track system. Once collected, the spikes need to be washed and dried before being sandblasted back to a smooth finish. The spikes are currently air-dried as they travel along a 2ft wide wire mesh conveyor. But, this is not doing the trick. Customer installed 2pc Model 110024 24" (610mm) Aluminum Super Air Knife, one above and one below the conveyor. This allows the airflow to hit all sides of the spikes for more effective drying. Installation of the air knives has led to nearly 100% dry spikes at the entrance to the sandblasting booth.
