Super Air Knife Prevents Tortilla Bags From "Pillowing" During Sealing
This customer uses a horizontal band sealer on plastic packages of flour tortillas. If they seal excess air into the bag, though, they get a "pillow" effect, which can cause the bag to rupture during shipping or handling, resulting in wasted product. A Model 110209SS 9" (229mm) Stainless Steel Super Air Knife Kit was installed to blow down and at an angle onto the bags, flattening them out immediately prior to sealing. This has eliminated the "pillow" effect, improving their packaging, and greatly reducing their waste product.
