Super Ion Air Knife Eliminates Static Charge In Plastic Bag Manufacturing

This customer makes plastic bags from rolls of bulk material. The bag material has a large amount of static which causes it to cling to a curtain that is used to apply tension to the material in order to maintain a constant feed rate. The existing static eliminator was not helping, bags were being cut incorrectly, which caused the material to hang up, leading to lots of down time. They installed a Model 112036 36" (914mm) Super Ion Air Knife System to blow down from the top of the curtain. The ionized air flow covered each side of the tension curtain and eliminated the static. Material hang ups were eliminated, and the defective bag rate was greatly reduced.
