Ultrasonic Leak Detector Prevents Shutting Down Fire Suppression Systems For Leak Testing
A facility management service performs periodic inspections of fire suppressions systems in industrial facilities to ensure operational readiness. Some of the systems they are responsible for are pressurized with compressed air, and local codes require certification that the systems are leak-free. The customary method is to perform a hydrostatic test, but the system must be shut down for hours to do this, which is unacceptable during plant operations. Using a Model 9207 Ultrasonic Leak Detector, they are now able to perform leak testing in a fraction of the time, without removing the fire suppression system from service.
