Nozzle Blows Off Machining Chips and Increases Production
Company manufactures automotive seating platforms. 470mm rods are reamed and threaded horizontally to create a threaded blind hole in one end. Excess shavings interfere with proximity sensors at a post operation length test, resulting in an increased number of unnecessarily rejected parts, secondary testing and wasted time. The customer installed an EXAIR Model 1122 2" (51mm) Super Air Nozzle to blow the chips off while the part is in the work fixture. The elimination of the excess shavings has increased production numbers by eliminating any rejection errors, eliminated secondary manual inspection for length and created more time for the operators to spend on other operations.
