Vortex Tube Evens Cooling Time
Customer manufactures fiberglass tanks used for swimming pool filters. The tanks are molded in a way that leaves a 4" diameter hole in the top of the tank. The tank is generally ¼" thick throughout, except at the top where the hole is located, where it is up to 1" thick. This thicker portion of the tank holds a great deal more heat and it must be cooled down prior to some additional assembly operations. The thicker part of the tank is holding up production because it takes much longer to cool. The customer has chosen an EXAIR Model 3240 Vortex Tube to provide cold air flow around the thick portion of the tank and help it cool at the same rate as the thinner part of the tank. The Vortex Tubes increased production by lowering cooling time.
