FAQ

  • My Reversible Drum Vac was working just fine when I got it, but it doesn't work very well any more. Why?

The Reversible Drum Vac has no moving parts. Degradation in performance is most likely due to contamination from the compressed air supply. Maintenance on the Reversible Drum Vac is not normally required if it is provided with the proper air filtration. Disassemble the unit and clean according to the Installation and Maintenance instructions that came with your unit.

Also, large pressure drops are possible across filter separators if the element is clogged with dirt. Check filter and replace element if needed.

A troubleshooting guide is available for the Reversible Drum Vac.

  • Why can't I use the Reversible Drum Vac with flammable materials?

The Reversible Drum Vac has the potential to produce a static charge which is caused by the material being transported.

  • Why can't I use some of your products around flammable materials?

EXAIR has two groups of products that are not for use around flammable materials, the conveying products and the static eliminators. The Line Vac, Drum Vac and Chip Vac conveying products all have the potential to produce a static charge caused by the material being transported. The static eliminating products all use high voltage technology to eliminate a static charge and could possible produce a spark by the high voltage emitter points.

  • Why can't I use your Chip Vac with flammable materials?

The Chip Vac has the potential to produce a static charge which is caused by the material being transported.
